About Dirk Demeersman

One Dirk, different kinds of horses...
Dirk Demeersman is one of the most successful riders in the history of Belgian show jumping. Dirk is a self-made man, he achieved everything on his own. Despite some setbacks, he never gave up hope and always worked hard to be the very best. Thanks to his talent to train all different kinds of horses, his ability to adjust himself to these horses and his discipline and self-motivation to train every day, he has established himself in the world`s top 100.
'Passionate about horses' is an understatement...
Ever since he was a small boy, Dirk was passionate about horses and wanted to be a rider. When he was only ten years old, he already participated in the European Championship. Two years later, he won the silver medal with the Belgian team. Eighteen years after his first competition, Dirk entered his first Olympiad. Since then, he has represented Belgium in many prestigious competitions like the European Championship, the Olympics and the World Championship, and he has won numerous Grand Prix competitions. So far, he reached the height of his career with his macho stallion Clinton. Together, they finished 4th at the Olympic Games in Athens and ended 2nd in the Grand Prix of Aachen. In 2010, was Dirk (with Bufero v/h Panishof) member of the Belgian team at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, where they received the bronze medal.
A promising future...
At the moment, Dirk can show off with horses like Bufero v/h Panishof, Cicero Z van Paemel, Tymoon Caloo Meerchen, Diamond's Billy, STB Fleuri v/d Koekelberg..... a few nice horses. But meanwhile Dirk works also with young horses to the future. Of some of them he has high expectations but we still have to be patient before we know if there’s a real topper in between them.
